DCR-880-M Beak* Simple Design

* Completely Mechanical Operation

Unique portable unit designed to lift and transport steel, plastic, and fiber drums with a top lip. Steel jaw securely grips the top lip of the drum. Available with either a manual mechanical ratchet, foot pump hydraulic, or DC powered lift mechanism. Straddle legs rotate for access to drums on pallets. Units roll on four (4) 8" x 2" phenolic swivel casters. The push handle folds down for easy access to ratchet and foot pump. All welded steel construction. Baked-in powder coated toughness with a safety yellow finish. Optional scale weighs drums to an accuracy of +/-0.5 pounds. Optional scale includes (6) AA cell batteries and an AC adaptor.

Drum Transporter with Scale:
The portable Economical Drum Transporter is designed to lift and transport drums with a top lip. Drums are secured in place by utilizing the top jaw grip, as well as, the central support and strap. With a foot pump lift design, the user can position the drum to the best suitable height. The legs of the transporter have a straddle design feature that can be alternated to for a safer reach of drums, while on pallets. Scale weighs drums to an accuracy of +/-0.5 pounds and includes (6) AA cell batteries.

Q: when the drum is in the cradle, does it extends farther than the legs when they are completely open?

A: A standard 55 gallon steel drum (22-1/2" diameter) would overhang the front casters of the DCR-880-H unit slightly ( roughly 4-1/2") when the legs are in the outermost position. It is not recommended to transport the drum with the legs in this position. We would recommend to pick the drum from the pallet with the legs in that position, then move the unit and drum away from the pallet enough to clear the legs, then lower the drum to the ground, adjust the legs back to the inner most position , raise the drum slightly and secure it to the lower saddle using the supplied ratchet strap, before transporting the drum.
